What We Know Right Now:

Arthur made landfall Wednesday afternoon northeast of Matagorda Bay, Texas as a tropical rainstorm — the storm was officially downgraded from tropical storm status just before landfall. However, significant rainfall and flood potential remain for coastal and inland areas of Texas and Louisiana.

Current Threats:

• Heavy rainfall — 4 to 8 inches across southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana, with isolated totals up to 12 inches possible
• Inland flooding in low-lying areas and areas with poor drainage
• Gusty winds and isolated thunderstorms as the system moves northeast
• River and bayou flooding over the next 24–48 hours

Tropical Storm Arthur | June 17, 2026 — 5:00 PM CDT

System Status: Arthur has strengthened to a tropical storm with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph. The storm is moving northeast at 14 mph and is expected to make landfall along the Texas coast Wednesday afternoon.

Forecast Track: NHC places landfall between Corpus Christi and Galveston, with the cone of uncertainty extending into southwest Louisiana. Rainfall totals of 3–6 inches are likely across the Baton Rouge metro area regardless of exact landfall location.

• Move critical documents and equipment to elevated locations
• Photograph your property interior and exterior for insurance records
